the Grief Circle

- Sadness & Grief -
- Guilt & Regret -
- Moving On -

Picture
Debby is a strong vocalist, improvisational performance artist and master teacher. As a current Seattle area performer featured in the Seattle Times, she has become the area's best-known facilitator for an Improvisational Vocal form called  CircleSinging.  Debby's desire to serve the community, however needed, has prompted this NEW Grief Circle.

Kate has worked in hospice, and with children with cancer, and her work with death and dying, through her personal life is an enormous part of the aliveness she contributes to experiencing today.    She has been inspired by the work of Sobonfu Somé, Martin Prechtel, Francis Weller and Stephen Jenkenson, and many more.

This grief-circle will be co- facilitated by Kate Thompson, RN

Though grief often arises from an array of events, recent conversations have brought up grief as a result of a family or friend passing on.  A thought came to mind.  Perhaps those I sing with in Circle might be open to a special CircleSing with the hope of easing the dis-ease of loss. I also acknowledge that November and December can prove very hard in the best of times. So, I've asked Kate Thompson to spearhead our time together.

I've sung with Kate and studied with her as well.  I trust her to help guide our time together with the utmost tenderness and compassion. I also feel buoyed by her expertise and intuitive work, trusting it will move us towards clarity as well as JOY.         DEBBY

You are not alone in your grief

Grief is as natural an expression of humanness as joy, and honors the losses of what we love and loved. Unexpressed grief can be the source of stress, illness, and disease while the process of grieving can bring balance to the body and create space for joy to recolonize the heart.

We will create a safe container to share in sacred witnessing, body awareness, heart-opening music, and emotional support.     KATE
